Nicole
Nicole was born and raised in the borderlands of El Paso, Texas, where she first discovered the yoga practice. She realized that Yoga was more than just the physical postures, or asanas, and that the practice incorporated all aspects of the human experience: mental, emotional, and spiritual. After a few years of exploring different studios in her hometown, she began practicing regularly at Surya Yoga studio, where she decided she wanted to learn more and eventually completed her 200-hour yoga teacher training certification in Flow & Form. She taught a variety of classes at Surya, including beginner-friendly, alignment-based form, flow, and restorative yoga. After completing her bachelors of science degree in kinesiology, she moved to San Antonio to continue her education. She is currently a student of physical therapy at UT Health Science Center and will graduate with a clinical doctorate in May 2024. She appreciates a variety of movement practices and her classes have evolved over time to include what she is learning as a PT student. Functional movement, strength, flexibility, balance, meditation, and breathing exercises are all components students may expect to find in her classes. When Nicole is not studying for exams, she loves to spend time outdoors: camping, hiking, biking, swimming, climbing, horseback riding, and gardening.
